Welcome new post-doc. Marion!
The SCAN Lab welcomes our newest lab member, Marion van den Heuvel!
Marion joins us from Tilburg University, Netherlands. She obtained her Bachelor in Health Sciences in 2009 at Maastricht University (Netherlands), with a major in Mental Health Sciences. In 2012 she graduated cum laude from the prestigious Research Master in Social and Behavioral Sciences at Tilburg University. Marion’s many accomplishments include a research internship at the University of East London (UK) with Dr. Elena Kushnerenko, and serving on the BrainAGE project as PhD student under supervision of Prof. Bea Van den Bergh. Marion’s work has examined the effects of maternal anxiety and mindfulness during pregnancy on the neurocognitive functioning in infants and young children. She successfully defended her thesis, ‘ Altered Neurocognitive Functioning in Infants and Young Children Prenatally Exposed to Maternal Anxiety and Mindfulness’, this January. Marion has extensive experience working with electroencephalography (EEG) and event-related potentials (ERPs) in infants and young children. She was awarded the RoBUST postdoctoral fellowship from Wayne State University to work with Dr. Moriah Thomason. For her postdoc, she will continue her research in the field of developmental programming and expand her knowledge to fetal fMRI.
